The examine of women in historical Greece is thus inseparable from the research of ladies in Greek religion. Because the classical polis required girls’s spiritual participation and public presence, religion has been viewed because the one sphere that allowed for female company and civic affect.17 For this purpose, most scholarship emphasizes feminine company and competence in Greek faith.
