Rio to host innaugural EmTech Brazil edition in 2015

    MIT Technology Review, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) publication, and the Studies and Projects Financier (Finep) have announced that Rio de Janeiro will host the innaugural edition of EmTech Brazil, a gathering on emerging technologies and innovation. The event, which has “The future of technology, today” as a theme, will take place on November 18 and 19. “Brazil is the third most entrepreneuring country in the world. That is why we want to seize the opportunity to recognize and acquire technology-related talent for high impact projects”, pointed out the adjunct-director of the MIT Technology Review and EmTech Brazil director, Cecilia Nicolini.

    The conference will have the participation of lecturers coming from Brazil and abroad, who will debate with 800 scientists, entrepreneus, young innovators and researchers technological changes and their tendencies. Among the main themes to be discussed are energy in cities, aerospace industry, water and technology, education in the future, challenges facing medicine, artificial intelligence and virtual currency and e-commerce

    “As the premier institution supporting innovation in Brazil, Finep is a central element in a debate which spans strategic themes and looks to identify technologies with potential to impact the future. This dialogue opens up not just knowledge exchange and dialogue promotion possibilities for Brazil, as well as technologicla development and financing for new innovative business”, stated the president of Finep, Luis Fernandes.
