Brazil and France have been strengthening their commercial ties. The most recent initiative between the two countries was the launch of a public call for Brazilian and French companies to present joint research and development projects. The program’s objective is to promote the creation of new technologies from the joint R&D projects. The cooperation proposal must involve at least one company from each country, which should develop a new product, process or service for industrial application directed towards commercialization in the domestic and/or global market.

The proposals will be analyzed by a managing committee, coordinated by the Innovation Secretariat of the Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade (MDIC) and its French counterpart.

Projects can be proposed in the areas of information and communication technology, biotechnology, health, energy, cosmetics and oil & gas. The available funding and submission dates have not been released yet. Companies interested in participating in the selection should maintain previous contact, directly or through the program website.
