The 2015 edition of the Rio Pipeline fair will have two major novelties, which go along the current scenario of the oil and gas market: the “Invention for Innovation” pavillion and the Market and Career Workshop. The announcement was made by the executive director for Supply, Petrochemicals and Biofuels from the Brazilian Oil, Gas and Biofuels Institute (IBP), Ernani Filgueiras. The fair, which receives in average 2.000 visitors and 1.000 participants, will take place from September 22 to 24 in Rio de Janeiro.
During the presentation, Filgueiras spoke on the event’s importance to the sector and the selection of the Innovation theme, which will gather 14 tech-based companies to present interesting solutions for ducts: the current role of underwater ducts in the development of pre-salt. “Brazilian discoveries are among the most important in the whole world. Pre-salt presents itself as an excellent opportunity to develop the entire procutive chain, in the underwater ducts segment in particular, which will require new technology and solutions to expand the network”, he said.
The Market and Career Workshop will focus on professionals looking for an opportunity. The Profissional do Futuro project, which works with young students, will also take place during the event. The expectation is for 300 students from local universities to participate in the activities
Rio Pipeline will have an integrated schedule comprised of five sessions, nine forums, five minicourses and two special sessions, which received awards at OTC Houston 2015 – one on integrity of gas distribution ducts and another on Petrobras’ technolgies for the segment, as well as an exhibiton and parallel events. There are 66 lecturers and almost 200 technical papers to be presented. There are 70 companies already confirmed for the fair. Engie, Rosen, T.D.Williamson, Tenaris, TBG, Petrobras and Smartech, which are sponsors of this year’s edition, are among them.
