INFRASTRUCTURE SOLUTIONS CREATED FROM THE OLYMPIC GAMES ARE DISPLAYED AT CASA RIO EVENT
Infrastructure solutions developed from challenged posed by organizing the Barcelona Olympics were on display during the “Spain: Olympic Inspiration – RIO 2016” seminar, which took place today, May 19, at the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association.
The event, part of the Casa Rio Business Center program, had the participation of Spanish companies presenting urban development solutions created to meet the demands of the Olympic Games.
Juan Riera, partner at B+ABR Backheuser e Riera Arquitetura, presented the development projects for the Rio 2016 Olympic Village and the rennovation of Praça Mauá, drawing a parallel with the rennovation of Barcelona’s waterfront. “Barcelona was a coastal city, but turned its back to the sea. After the port rennovation, there was a complete shift in profile which contributed to a considerable increase in tourism”, disse Riera.
Other companies participating in the seminar were Royalverd, which develops pitch maintenance technology, working for professional football clubs in Europe and Brazilian stadia; Aqualogy, company involved in the monitoring and quality control of Baía de Guanabara’s bodies of water; and Ros Roca Environment, which works with waste management and urban cleaning.
The “Spain: Olympic Inspiration – RIO 2016” seminar was organized in a partnership with the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association and the Brazil-Spain Chamber of Commerce.
