Rio will launch the most extensive business development program in Brazil
The first Olympic house of the 2016 Games, Casa Rio starts its operations on March 17. Focused on business development, Casa Rio will have six months of activities, which add up to over 40 events, between conferences, business rounds and presentations on investment opportunities in the city.
“We opened our house way before the others on account of the demand for information on business opportunities in Brazil and Rio and economic sector scenarios”, explains Marcelo Haddad, president of Rio Negócios, the city’s investment promotion agency, which is responsible for conceiving and executing the Casa Rio project.
Casa Rio will have its conferences scheduled from March to September, at Museu do Amanhã, already an icon of the city. The focus of the conferences will be themes related to energy, hospitality, life sciences, infrastructure, technology, financial services and creative industry, areas in which there has been interest from investors who came to Rio in the past year. “In six months we intend on presenting the new environment and new business opportunities in Rio de Janeiro to 2.800 decision makers from 800 companies and, with that, attract up to 40 projects in the next two years”, evaluates Marcelo.
In addition to the conferences, Casa Rio will also have a more direct operation with foreign delegations at the Casa Rio Business Center, to have its headquarters at the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association. In this portion of Casa Rio, there will be presentations on business environment and opportunities for the delegations, as well as a soft landing service for companies newly arrived to the city.
