Power-plant developers in Brazil will bid for contracts to sell energy on Oct. 25 from projects due to go into operation in three years.
Developers of wind farms, solar projects, natural gas-fired power plants and biomass facilities will bid for 20-year contracts in the so-called A-3 auction, according to a notice today in Brazil’s official gazette. Companies proposing hydroelectric dams will bid for 30-year contracts.
The power plants must produce electricity by Jan. 1, 2016, according to the online notice. Participants have until Aug. 13 to register for the government-organized event.
