Brazil has begun a pro-active campaign to attract companies that can guarantee a strong chain for the country’s solar energy sector. As a first initiative, the Brazilian Promotion of Exports and Investments Agency (Apex-Brasil) announced, partnered with the Brazilian Fotovoltaic Solar Energy Association (Absolar), an event on 11/06 during Intersolar, the largest solar industry fair worldwide, to take place in Munich, Germany. The objective is to bring information to entrepreneurs on Brazil’s potential, government incentives, financing lines and the best locations to install factories and generator parks.

The event will be divided between a seminar during the morning with representatives from the government’s main agencies and companies that had success in the Brazilian market, and in the afternoon, matchmaking between federal and state governments with companies, also between Brazilian companies and potential investors or interested in joint ventures. There will also be a technical visit to a solar park in Germany. The estimate is that 25 companies from Germany, Austria, China, Italy and Spain will be present.

Representatives from the National Development Bank (BNDES), the National Electrical Energy Agency (Aneel), the Brazilian Industrial Development Agency (ABDI) and Inmetro will accompany Apex-Brasil. Class associations from Brazil and Germany will also participate in the seminar: Absolar, from Brazil, and from the German side, the Germany Solar Association (BSW-Solar). Besides that, sector companies already successfully established in the country, such as the Sowitec Group and the SunEdison & Renova joint venture will tell the public present how their experience with the Brazilian market is going.
