This week, we’ve got a 13-fight card at Boise, Idaho. It is headlined by Junior Dos Santos vs Blagoy Ivanov, that is making his UFC debut. DraftKings has smaller contests for this card because it is just a Fight Night card using lesser known title, but there is still well over $100k to be won. I’ll be chasing my fair share of that money and that I hope you guys will be too. Listed below are a few plays I enjoy this weekend and my fade of the week.
Cash Game play of this week — Alexander Volkanovski ($9,200)
I think Volkanovski is the”safest” play on this card along with also his -300 betting line would agree with me. That is where I will be starting my lineup this week and I’ll figure out the rest from there. Volkanovski averages 116.5 DK points through his first four UFC fights so he has a ton of upside as well. He could possible score more than two winners on this particular card combined. I do think he’s in play for GPPs as well for that reason, but he will probably be the most peculiar owned fighter on the card and we do not care about ownership as much in money games. I would suggest paying for the expensive cost in your money games and I then search for three or more others wins you are confident in.
GPP play of the week — Junior Dos Santos ($8,700)
JDS should be the way better striker inside this fight and I believe this is where the battle will take place. He can get KO’d at the opening seconds of the fight and score 0 points, but this is what makes him a GPP play instead of a cash match play. With both of these Heavyweights, we need to likely see a KO inside the 25-minues and that I feel the former winner, JDS, will be the one to receive it. He’s got good takedown defense so he should be able to maintain this fight on the toes where he’ll have a 4-inch reach benefit to use.
Underdog play of this week — Niko Price ($7,900)
Niko will function as underdog play of this week. The chances indicate that the fight should be fairly close and there is a good chance that he uses his wrestling to gain the advantage. In 5 fights he hasn’t seen a decision however, and there is a chance it remains that way if he receives Brown to the ground. Niko includes some slick entrances in his arsenal and a great deal of heart. On the toes, Brown likely has the advantage with his achieve, but Price does have any sneaky power also, which can not be overlooked. All in all, I like this as a GPP play.
Fade of this week — Alejandro Perez ($9,100)
Perez is the 2nd most expensive fighter on this card and he is just $100 less expensive than Volkanovski. In my view, Perez will need a end to really have a shot at paying that pricey salary and I do not wish to invest in that, personally. He’s never landed greater than 1 takedown in a struggle and Wineland has excellent takedown defense, so we should see this fight take place on the toes. I believe Perez needs to be the one to receive his hand raised in the end but I think that it’s going to be through decision. If that is true then he can score ~60 points in a win, and also at $9.1k that isn’t going to win anybody a championship. I will be full fading Perez this week and hoping he doesn’t get the end and he’s my official fade of this week.
