Pre-salt keeps bolstering the Brazilian oil industry. According to data from the National Oil Agency (ANP), pre-salt production this past November grew 1,7% related to the previous month, reaching 1,023 million barrels of equivalent oil per day, 42% of total oil production in the country.

Production in the 53 pre-salt wells totalled 820.200 barrels of oil per day and 32,3 million m³ of natural gas per day. Growth in the area is still led by the Lula field, in the Santos basin, which reached an average of 380.800 oil barrels per day.

Total oil and gas production in Brazil was of 2,972 million barrels of equivalent oil per day in November. Compared to 2014, the last few months were of constant growth in national production. The total oil produced during the month of November is 0,9% higher than what was registered during the same period last year; natural gas production, in its turn, grew 2,7% over the same comparison.
